A grant is a type of financial assistance awarded to a person or organisation to help them to study, conduct research or develop and implement a community program.

A grant may be in the form of a scholarship that doesn't have to be repaid or it might be money given to a community organisation or individual person to undertake charitable activities.

Potential sources of funding for community projects include:

  • Government Funding
  • Private sector or individual sponsorships or foundations.

Who can get grants?

This really depends on the eligibility factor which the government, private sector, individual or foundation sets when making the grant available. However this usually includes the following:
